Directions

  1. 1Combine beef mince, salt, black pepper, garlic paste, chopped coriander, and cumin powder in a bowl, then knead the mixture by hand until soft.
  2. 2Shape the beef mixture into balls of equal size.
  3. 3Heat oil in a pan and fry the beef balls on medium-high heat until brown on the outside.
  4. 4Remove the fried balls from the pan and set aside.
  5. 5Cut the tomatoes in half and place them face down in the same pan, then cover with a lid to soften.
  6. 6Remove the tomato skins using tongs or a spoon, then break down the tomatoes with a spoon to release their juices.
  7. 7Add garlic paste to the tomatoes, plus a splash of oil if the mixture is too dry.
  8. 8Stir in the coriander powder, then add a small amount of water to achieve a saucy consistency.
  9. 9Add chopped green chillies, black pepper, and salt to the sauce.
  10. 10Add the fried beef balls back into the pan, cover, and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
  11. 11Garnish with julienned ginger and fresh red chillies before serving.

  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 handful fresh coriander
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 splash olive oil
  • 6 whole tomatoes
  • 2 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 splash olive oil
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 splash water
  • 2 whole green chilli
  • 1 to taste black pepper
  • 1 to taste salt
  • ginger, julienned (optional)
  • fresh red chilli (optional)
