Directions
1
Get a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.
2
If using seasonings, heavily salt your water.
3
Dice up half of the Vidalia onion.
4
Get your pan on the stove over medium heat.
5
Throw the diced onion into the pan and move it around, bringing up the heat.
6
If using seasonings, add a little bit of salt to the onions to start osmosis; otherwise, let them cook for 30 seconds.
7
Lower the heat to medium-low.
8
Once the water starts boiling, drop your egg noodles in and cook them al dente.
9
After about a minute, when the onion starts to brown, take some pasta water and deglaze the pan to release flavors.
10
Reduce the egg noodle water in the pan to about one or two teaspoons.
11
When the liquid is reduced, throw in the whole can of beef stew.
12
Snatch up some egg noodle water, throw it in the beef stew can, mix it around, and add it to the pan to emulsify the sauce.
13
Mix the beef stew and let it go for about a minute.
14
Strain the egg noodles, but do not clean the pot as the starch is important.
15
In the same pot used for egg noodles, throw in the can of sloppy joe sauce.
16
Add about a tablespoon of egg noodle water to the sloppy joe sauce and mix it up until it thickens.
17
After the beef stew has been going for about a minute and a half, pour in half of the sloppy joe mixture into the beef stew pan and mix it up.
18
In the pot with the remaining sloppy joe sauce, throw in the strained egg noodles and mix them up.
19
Add the beef stew mixture to the pot with the egg noodles and sloppy joe sauce, scraping everything in.
20
Mix everything together and let it sit for two or three minutes for the sauce to thicken on its own.
