Cut tofu into bite-sized pieces.

Add a couple of handfuls of bonito flakes into boiling water, cook for a few minutes, and strain it.

Put four cups of dashi into a pot.

Put the tofu in the pot.

Heat it on the medium heat until the tofu is hot.

Add miso paste.

Put some green onions and remove from heat.

Serve.

4 cups dashi or fish broth
1 package tofu
4 tablespoon miso paste
2 green onions
handfuls bonito flakes

Tips
You can find miso paste at some grocery stores in the refrigerator or Asian food aisle, or you can order online.
You can use both soft and hard kind of tofu in the soup
You can also use vegetables, seafood, and meat in miso soup instead of tofu.
