1Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
2In a large bowl, add bananas and mash until smooth, leaving a few chunks.
3Add melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and mix until smooth.
4Add sour cream, vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
5In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
6Fold dry ingredients into wet just until combined (do not overmix).
7Gently fold in chocolate chips.
8Pour batter into prepared pan. Optional: sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
9Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10 minutes.
10Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
11Lightly tent with foil partway through to prevent over-browning.
12Cool in pan 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
