Caramelized Onion and Garlic Pasta

Directions

  1. 1With your pan on medium heat, throw in 2 tablespoons of butter.
  2. 2Pour in 1 tablespoon of good olive oil.
  3. 3Add 1 large onion, thinly sliced.
  4. 4Cook the onions down for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are mushy and brown.
  5. 5Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. 6Add 4 to 6 cloves of fresh grated garlic.
  7. 7Add about 1 tablespoon of chili crisp.
  8. 8Mix everything around to incorporate all the ingredients.
  9. 9Add about half a cup of heavy cream or coconut milk.
  10. 10Add about a cup of grated parmesan cheese.
  11. 11Stir the mixture and let the cheese melt with the cream and onions.
  12. 12Once the cheese is melted, add any noodles of your choice.
  13. 13Add a little bit of pasta water to thicken the sauce.

  • 0.5 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup grated parmesan
  • noodles of your choice (tagliatelle or spaghetti)
  • pasta water

Tips

  • Let the onions cook down for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Don't forget to add a little bit of pasta water to thicken the sauce.
  • You can use more chili crisp if you prefer a darker color and more spice.
