Baked Beans

Directions

  1. 1Pour dry navy beans into a large pot.
  2. 2Add water to the pot with the beans and bring to a boil.
  3. 3Chop onions into small pieces.
  4. 4Add chopped onions to a measuring cup.
  5. 5Sauté the chopped onions in a pot.
  6. 6Place bacon strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. 7Bake the bacon until crispy.
  8. 8Chop the cooked bacon into small pieces.
  9. 9Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, molasses, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, allspice, and pepper to a large pot.
  10. 10Add the sautéed onions to the pot with the sauce ingredients.
  11. 11Mix the sauce ingredients thoroughly.
  12. 12Add the cooked navy beans to the pot with the sauce.
  13. 13Mix the beans with the sauce until well combined.
  14. 14Fill mason jars with the baked bean mixture.
  15. 15Wipe the rims of the jars clean.
  16. 16Seal the jars with lids and bands.
  17. 17Place the sealed jars into an electric pressure canner.
  18. 18Start the pressure canning process.
  19. 19Remove the processed jars from the pressure canner.
