Directions

Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Toss sliced beef with cornstarch and soy sauce. Let sit 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.

Cook beef 2 3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, sauté garlic, onion, and bell peppers for 2 3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin, ginger, sesame oil, broth, and red pepper flakes.

Return beef to the pan. Add cooked noodles.

Pour sauce over everything and toss well.

Cook 2 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles.

Sprinkle with green onions and serve hot.

12 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
for boiling Salted water
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
3 green onions, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
3 cloves garlic, minced
0.33 cup low-sodium soy sauce
0.25 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sesame oil
0.25 cup beef broth (or water)
0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
