Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, minced garlic, beef broth, sesame oil (if using), and black pepper in a bowl. Set aside.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.

Stir-fry beef for 2 3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

Add remaining oil to the pan.

Stir-fry bell peppers and onion for 3 4 minutes until crisp-tender.

Return beef to the pan.

Pour in the garlic pepper sauce.

Stir-fry 1 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.

1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
1 large onion, sliced
2 tbsp vegetable oil
0.25 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
0.5 cup beef broth or water
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Tips
Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
