Garlic Black Pepper Beef Stir-Fry

Directions

  1. 1Whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, minced garlic, beef broth, sesame oil (if using), and black pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. 2Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. 3Stir-fry beef for 2 3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. 4Add remaining oil to the pan.
  5. 5Stir-fry bell peppers and onion for 3 4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  6. 6Return beef to the pan.
  7. 7Pour in the garlic pepper sauce.
  8. 8Stir-fry 1 2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Tips

  • Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
