Prepare the pork butt by slicing it about an inch and a half in thickness.

Place the sliced pork in a bowl.

Add dark soy sauce, soy sauce, a pinch of salt, cooking wine, oyster sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper to the pork.

Add Chinese five spice, a lot of sugar, and chicken bouillon to the pork.

Optionally, add a little red food coloring for a traditional red color.

Mix all ingredients with the pork, ensuring it's well coated.

Taste test the marinade and adjust as needed.

Marinate the pork for at least one hour; at a restaurant, it's marinated overnight.

Lay the marinated pork on an air fryer rack.

Place the rack into the air fryer.

Cook in the air fryer for about 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, take the pork out and flip it over to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.

Return the pork to the air fryer for another 10 minutes.

After another 10 minutes, pull it out again and flip it.

Serve the barbecue pork, optionally with cucumber slices.
