5Pour the lemony broth mixture all over the chicken thighs in the crock pot.
6In a smaller mixing bowl, add one teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of onion powder, a half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes, a half a teaspoon of paprika, and one teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
7Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper to taste to the seasoning mixture.
8Stir the seasoning mixture.
9Spread the seasoning mixture all over the chicken thighs.
10Place six tablespoons of butter on each chicken thigh in a geometric pattern.
11Mince five cloves of garlic and put it on top of the chicken.
12Rinse asparagus, cut the ends off, and spread it on top of the chicken and garlic.
13Place the lid on the crock pot.
14Set the crock pot on low for six to eight hours.
15After seven and a half hours, open the crock pot and serve.

Tips
The lemon is not overpowering, neither is the garlic.
Can use more garlic if desired.
The asparagus absorbs a lot of flavor.
If you don't like asparagus, you don't have to add it.
Chicken is good over rice, mashed potatoes, or on a bun.
