Directions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 425F.
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine olive oil, maple syrup, soy sauce, sriracha, and corn starch.
  3. 3Using a Y peeler, peel your smoked tofu into the marinade to get really thin strips.
  4. 4Toss the smoked tofu gently to evenly coat it in the marinade.
  5. 5Place the marinated smoked tofu on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. 6Bake for 10 minutes, then flip the tofu and bake for another 5-10 minutes until crispy.
  7. 7Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  8. 8Assemble the vegan bacon on a bagel with spinach, tomatoes, and sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 package smoked tofu
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp corn starch

Tips

  • Using a Y peeler gets the tofu super thin and allows it to get crispy and crunchy when baked in the oven.
  • Bake the tofu for 10 minutes, then flip and bake for another 5-10 minutes until crispy, not burnt.
