High Protein Crispy Beef Arayes

Directions

  1. 1Add 800g of lean ground beef to a bowl.
  2. 2Add a medium finely diced onion to the beef.
  3. 3Add 4 minced garlic cloves to the mixture.
  4. 4Add fresh chopped coriander to the mixture.
  5. 5Add 2 finely chopped green chillies to the mixture.
  6. 6Add 2 tsp of smoked paprika, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of cayenne, and 2 tsp of salt to the mixture.
  7. 7Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands.
  8. 8Take one sliced pita bread.
  9. 9Add 1/5 of the Arayes meat filling into the pita bread.
  10. 10Press the filling to create a uniform thickness.
  11. 11Spray a griddle pan with cooking spray.
  12. 12Place the filled Arayes onto the griddle pan.
  13. 13Cook on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy and the meat is cooked through.
  14. 14Flip the Arayes to ensure grill marks on both sides.
  15. 15Slice the cooked Arayes in half.
  16. 16Serve and enjoy.

  • 1 tsp cayenne

  • 5 sliced pittas

  • 120 g 0% Greek yoghurt
  • 60 g light mayo
  • 0.5 juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt

Tips

  • toast in the pan 2-3 minutes each side till the outside is crispy and the meat is cooked through, cook longer if needed
  • use a griddle pan if you want the grill marks
  • eating them fresh is recommended, but you can store for up to 5 days by wrapping in foil and allowing to cool first
  • to reheat, unwrap from the foil, microwave for 2-3 minutes to take the chill off then pan toast or airfry to get crispy again
