Tollhouse Cookie

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
  2. 2In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine and set aside.
  3. 3In a second bowl, add the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. 4Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla and beat to combine.
  5. 5Gradually beat in the flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. 6Drop all the dough onto a cookie sheet covered in cling wrap. Press the dough until flat. Cover with cling wrap.
  7. 7Place the dough in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  8. 8Remove from freezer. Remove cling wrap. Flip dough onto a cutting board.
  9. 9Cut the dough into small 1x1 inch squares.
  10. 10To freeze, place squares in a ziplock bag.
  11. 11To bake, bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Tips

  • Bake some now, freeze some for later.
  • When baking from frozen, add 3 minutes to baking time.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for 2 minutes after baking, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
