High Protein Crispy Beef Arayes

Directions

  1. 1Add the lean ground beef to a bowl.
  2. 2Add the diced onion to the beef.
  3. 3Add the minced garlic cloves to the beef.
  4. 4Add the chopped coriander to the beef.
  5. 5Add the chopped chillies to the beef.
  6. 6Add 2 tsp of smoked paprika to the mixture.
  7. 7Add 1 tsp of black pepper to the mixture.
  8. 8Add 1 tsp of cayenne to the mixture.
  9. 9Add 2 tsp of salt to the mixture.
  10. 10Mix it well using your hands.
  11. 11Take a sliced pita bread.
  12. 12Add 1/5 of the Arayes filling into the pita bread.
  13. 13Spread the filling evenly inside the pita.
  14. 14Spray your pan with cooking spray.
  15. 15Place the Arayes on the pan.
  16. 16Cook the Arayes on medium-high for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until the outside is crispy and the meat is cooked through.
  17. 17Slice them in two.

  • 800 g lean ground beef
  • 1 medium finely diced onion
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 handful fresh chopped coriander/cilantro
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp back pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 sliced pittas
  • 1 cooking spray
  • 120 g 0% Greek yoghurt
  • 60 g light mayo
  • 1 juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 salt to taste

Tips

  • I recommend eating these fresh as they are so good! But if you want to store them, allow to cool first then wrap in foil and store for up to 5 days
  • To reheat, unwrap from the foil, microwave for 2-3 minutes to take the chill off then pan toast or airfry to get crispy again, enjoy!
