French Onion Chicken

Directions

  1. 1Throw six or seven chicken thighs into your slow cooker.
  2. 2Add one yellow onion sliced to your desire.
  3. 3Sear the chicken and sauté the onions first if desired for better taste.
  4. 4Get one cup of beef broth.
  5. 5Add a packet of French onion soup mix and about a tablespoon of Dijon mustard to the beef broth.
  6. 6Whisk all of the broth mixture together until beautifully combined.
  7. 7Pour the mixture right on top of your chicken.
  8. 8Put the lid on your slow cooker and set it to low for 4 to 6 hours.
  9. 9Check the chicken periodically; it's done when it falls apart with a fork.
  10. 10Add cheese on top of the cooked chicken, such as Gruyère, Swiss, or provolone.
  11. 11Put the lid back on and let the cheese melt.
  12. 12Serve with fresh baked bread with some butter and cheese under the broiler.
  13. 13Top the bread with some of the onions and a couple chicken thighs.
