Yakiniku Garlic Rice

Directions

  1. 1Bring mirin to a boil, then turn off the heat.
  2. 2Add soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, doubanjiang, grated ginger, and garlic to the pot.
  3. 3Cut up the apple and grate it, then add to the pot.
  4. 4Bring the mixture to a boil while scooping out any foam that forms. Stir on low heat for about 2 minutes and let cool.
  5. 5Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces.
  6. 6Put the beef in a bowl and pour in the cooled marinade. Cover and marinate for at least half an hour.
  7. 7Cook the rice using your desired method, adding chicken stock, soy sauce, and oil for flavor.
  8. 8Gently fluff the cooked rice.
  9. 9Heat a pan with a generous amount of butter, then cook the chopped garlic until it's lightly browned.
  10. 10Add the rice and a tablespoon of yakiniku marinade to the pan, mix well, and cook on low to medium heat for about 2 minutes. Transfer the rice to a bowl.
  11. 11Heat a pan or grill and cook the marinated beef for about a minute per side.
  12. 12Place a plate on top of the rice bowl, flip it over to create a rice mound, and place the cooked beef on top.
  13. 13Garnish with parsley or your favorite herb.

  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2.5 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp yakiniku marinade
  • 1 parsley
