Strawberry Pretzel Salad (1968)
Directions
- 1Combine 2 cups of pretzel crumbs, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 3/4 cup of melted butter.
- 2Press the mixture into a 13x9 pan.
- 3Bake the crust at 400° for 8 minutes.
- 4Mix 8 oz of cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
- 5Fold in a tub of cool whip.
- 6Smooth this mixture over the cooled crust.
- 7Dissolve one big box of strawberry Jell-O in two cups of boiling water.
- 8Add 2 and 1/2 cups of frozen sliced strawberries to the Jell-O mixture.
- 9Wait until the Jell-O mixture gels but does not set; this can be sped up by placing it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
- 10Quickly pour the gelled Jell-O mixture over the cream cheese layer.

- 8 oz chin creams
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tub cool whip
- 1 big box strawberry Jell-O
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2.5 cups frozen sliced strawberries

Tips
- Do not put the cream cheese mixture on a warm crust.
- Wait until the Jell-O mixture gels but not sets before adding to the crust.
