Tips

  • Best served with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • If onions start sticking, add a splash of water.
  • Save some pasta water.
  • Add an extra spoon of chili crisp for a spicy kick.
  • Add a sprinkle of fresh parsley if you're feeling fancy.
  • The pasta should be al dente.
  • The sauce should be silky, not sticky. Add pasta water to loosen if needed.
  • Use fresh garlic.
  • Bring cream or coconut milk to room temperature for the best results, as seen in the video description.
  • Measure out all your seasoning before starting to avoid any errors during the process, as seen in the video description.
  • Add minced garlic and seasoning to onions once they're deeply golden. Let it bloom for one minute, then add the chili crisp and sauté for another minute, as seen in the video description.
  • Pour in the room temperature cream (or coconut milk) and let it simmer for a few minutes until cozy. Then, add grated Parmesan cheese, as seen in the video description.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Use the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if it's too thick, ensuring a silky consistency, as seen in the video description.
  • Serve the dish hot with an additional spoonful of chili crisp for a spicy kick, and a sprinkle of fresh parsley for an elevated touch, as seen in the video description.
