Directions

  1. 1Prepare the ribs by removing the silver skin and cutting them into separate pieces.
  2. 2In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, vegetable oil, ginger, garlic, miso paste, Chinese five-spice powder, and cayenne pepper. Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade.
  3. 3Pour the sauce over the ribs, ensuring they're fully coated, and marinate for at least 3 hours.
  4. 4Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. 5Place ribs in a dutch oven and cook with the lid closed for 2 hours.
  6. 6Remove the lid and excess fat from the dutch oven. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  7. 7Brush the ribs with the reserved marinade and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until sticky and caramelized.
  8. 8Remove the ribs and put the leftover sauce from the dutch oven on medium heat for 6 minutes to caramelize. Pour it over the ribs.
  9. 9Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
