1Add the small diced strawberries and sugar to an empty CREAMi™ Pint.
2Mash the strawberries a bit using a fork, and allow them to sit for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to macerate the strawberries.
3Once the strawberries are somewhat jammy and no large chunks are left behind, add in the heavy cream, lemon juice, vanilla, and salt.
4Stir to combine all ingredients.
5Freeze the pint on a level surface in the freezer, with the lid off, for 24 hours.
6Once you remove the pint from the freezer, optionally allow it to sit on the counter for ~15-20 minutes before spinning to create a smoother ice cream.
7Place the pint in the outer bowl, and lock the lid on top.
8Place the bowl assembly on the motor base, twist the handle right to raise the platform, and lock it in place.
9Process on the Ice Cream setting.
10Scrape down the sides if needed for a creamier texture.
11Add a small splash of heavy cream or milk, and run the Respin program 1x.
12Enjoy your strawberry ice cream.
Ingredients
8 oz. fresh strawberries (washed and diced small)
0.33 cup granulated sugar (use more or less depending on your preference)
Prep in advance: Allow your pint at least 24 hours to freeze before spinning.
Avoid icy edges: Run your pint container under warm water for 30 seconds before running it through the Ninja Creami machine, or run a butter knife or spoon along the sides after the initial spin.
Respins: If your ice cream isn’t smooth and creamy after the first respin, you can respin until you get your desired consistency.
Don’t overfill the container: The ice cream will expand in volume as it spins.
Time Saving Tip: Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth, then pour into the Creami pint and freeze. However, macerating the strawberries creates super-flavorful ice cream.
Mix-ins: Add after the Respin cycle, then press the Mix-Ins cycle. Or add them to the top after mixing.
Frozen strawberries may be used but need to be thawed and mashed. The Creami blade is not designed to process uneven chunks or pieces of frozen fruit.
Any type of milk can be used, but heavy cream will produce the thickest, creamiest texture.
