Blackstone Chinese Lo Mein

Directions

  1. 1Boil lo mein noodles (or spaghetti noodles) for 6 to 8 minutes according to package instructions, then rinse with cold water.
  2. 2Mince or press 5 garlic cloves.
  3. 3Prepare mushrooms (half a cup to a cup), shredded carrots (half a cup), and two large green onions (cut into 2-inch pieces, halve thicker lighter green parts).
  4. 4Slice half of a large chicken breast into thin pieces.
  5. 5Prepare the sauce by mixing 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 1/2 tablespoons dark soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon sesame oil.
  6. 6Oil the Blackstone griddle (or pan).
  7. 7Add the protein (chicken) to the griddle. If using a pan, cook until 60% done.
  8. 8Add garlic and vegetables to the griddle and mix everything well.
  9. 9Add the boiled noodles to the griddle, making a nest in the middle.
  10. 10Stir the sauce well and add half of it to the noodles, tossing to coat.
  11. 11Make another nest with the noodles and add the remaining sauce.
  12. 12Stir fry everything together thoroughly.

  • 0.5 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 large green onions
  • 0.5 large chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 0.25 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • oil

Tips

  • You can use spaghetti noodles instead of lo mein noodles.
  • Adjust the amount of mushrooms to your preference.
  • For green onions, if they are not large, use about three. Cut the lighter green parts in half if they are too thick.
  • You can use your favorite protein like chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, or make a veggie lo mein.
  • If cooking in a pan, cook the protein until about 60% done before adding vegetables.
  • Adding dark soy sauce gives the noodles a dark color.
