Serves 4

Directions

  1. 1Heat oil in a pan and add mutton pieces and tomatoes.
  2. 2Sauté the mutton in the oil with the tomatoes. Cover and cook until tomatoes are soft.
  3. 3Remove the skin from the softened tomatoes and fry the mutton well in the oil.
  4. 4Remove the excess oil, leaving only as much as needed for the curry.
  5. 5Add ginger-garlic paste and salt, and continue frying the mutton until the tomatoes are fully dissolved.
  6. 6Add water to the pan, cover, and let the mutton cook until tender.
  7. 7Once tender, add beaten yogurt. Increase the heat to high to dry out the excess water from the yogurt.
  8. 8Add salt, black pepper powder, and garam masala powder to the mutton. Stir well.
  9. 9Garnish with green chilies, cover, and simmer briefly.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 5-6 whole tomato
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • green chili (optional)

Equipment

Tips

  • Do not add onions as they make the curry sweet, which is not desired in this dish.
  • You can also use this recipe for chicken or beef.
