Directions
- 1Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- 2Whisk together flour and sugar in a large bowl.
- 3Put the butter, oil, cocoa, chocolate, chocolate syrup, and water in a pan over medium high heat.
- 4Whisk together and let it come to a boil.
- 5Let cool slightly.
- 6Pour the mixture over the sugar and flour and whisk well.
- 7Add in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.
- 8Whisk well to combine.
- 9Lightly butter and flour a 9x13 pan.
- 10Pour the cake batter into your pan.
- 11Place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
- 12Start your icing as soon as the cake comes out of the oven.
- 13Combine butter, milk and cocoa powder in a pot and bring to a boil.
- 14Remove from the heat and add in powdered sugar.
- 15Whisk well to combine.
- 16Use a hand mixer and beat for 1 minute.
- 17Pour onto hot cake and spread.

- 1.25 cups all purpose flour
- 0.5 cup salted butter
- 0.5 cup unflavored oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 3.5 tbsp Hershey's chocolate syrup
- 0.5 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup salted butter
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 0.25 cup whole milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Tips
- If you would like a fluffier cake, add an additional 1/4 cup flour.
- Use a hand mixer and beat the icing for 1 minute to make it a little fluffier.
- Pour the icing onto the hot cake and spread it.
