Directions

  1. 1Peel and cut the onion in half, place in the food processor/or grate until it is finely chopped (purée).
  2. 2Add the ground beef and lamb and all ingredients to the mixer for 2-3 mins to allow all the flavours to combine together.
  3. 3Place the mixture on to tin foil rolled into a bread shape and firmly wrap closing the top only and leaving open at the bottom end.
  4. 4Place onto a vertical skewer if you have one if not a loaf tin will so.
  5. 5Place into a pre heated oven, 180C / 350F for 1 hour.
  6. 6Remove the foil and place back in the oven for another 30 minutes till golden brown.
  7. 7Allow to rest for 15 minutes before carving it up for the Doner.
  8. 8Serve with pitta, garlic/chilli sauce and salt of choice.

  • 1 large large Brown Onion
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tbsp mixed Mediterranean herbs
  • 1 tbsp Garlic granules
  • 1 tbsp Onion granules
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper
  • 500 g Ground Beef (can use lean)
  • 500 g Ground Lamb (can use lean)

Tips

  • For a healthier option, use lean ground beef and lamb.
  • Serve with pitta, garlic/chilli sauce and salt of choice.
  • Can be served with a simple cabbage salad and fat free garlic yogurt.
