Directions

  1. 1Combine the two flours, salt, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and onion in a bowl and mix.
  2. 2Add the buttermilk and bicarb soda straight into the bowl.
  3. 3Bring the ingredients together until all the flour is incorporated and the mixture has a consistent dough.
  4. 4Lightly dust a surface with flour, turn the dough a couple of times, and shape it into a round using the heel of your palm.
  5. 5Place the dough on a baking tray dusted with a little flour, flatten the top slightly, and dust the top with a little more flour.
  6. 6Cut straight through the top of the dough to the bottom of the tray.
  7. 7Optionally, throw a little Parmesan cheese in the groove.
  8. 8Bake at a high temperature, about 200 degrees Celsius, for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
