Haitian Macaroni and Cheese (Macaroni Al Gratin)

Directions

  1. 1Start by shredding Gouda, Parmesan, cheddar, and lactose-free mozzarella cheeses.
  2. 2Brown down some ground beef.
  3. 3Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and green seasoning.
  4. 4Add some Sazon for color to the ground beef.
  5. 5Boil mini penne in boiling water until al dente.
  6. 6Rinse the pan used for meat if not everyone in the house eats meat; otherwise, use the same pan.
  7. 7Add peppers and onions to the pan.
  8. 8Add green seasoning, equal parts carnation milk and heavy cream to the pan.
  9. 9Add about half a block of cheese at first, then add more until a nice, good consistency is achieved.
  10. 10Add the cooked pasta to the sauce.
  11. 11Add more cheese until the pasta is nice and saucy.
  12. 12Add Maggie seasoning and mix well.
  13. 13Layer the macaroni in a baking dish.
  14. 14Set the cooked meat aside.
  15. 15Layer the macaroni with the cooked meat.
  16. 16Add a little bit of cheese on top of the meat layer.
  17. 17Add another layer of macaroni.
  18. 18Top with more cheese.
  19. 19Add Chef Jen's Genesis seasoning (dried green seasoning) on top.
  20. 20Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.
  21. 21Broil for 5 minutes.
