Directions
1
Remove all the crust from the loaf of bread and set it aside for later.
2
Add six eggs, one cup of milk, one-half cup of heavy whipping cream, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
3
Whisk all the ingredients together until well combined.
4
Melt one stick of butter.
5
Add one cup of brown sugar to the melted butter.
6
Stir the brown sugar and butter mixture very well.
7
Pour the butter and brown sugar mixture into an 11x13 baking dish and spread it all around with a fork.
8
Place a layer of the crustless bread on top of the brown sugar mixture, cutting small pieces to fill the gaps if desired.
9
Spoon half of the egg batter mixture on top of the bread layer.
10
Sprinkle a layer of cinnamon on top of the batter.
11
Place the rest of the bread in another layer on top of the cinnamon, making sure to perfectly fill all the spaces.
12
Spoon the remaining egg batter mixture over the bread, ensuring everything is completely coated by pushing down with the spoon on any dry spots.
13
Slap another layer of cinnamon on top of the batter.
14
Cover the baking dish with saran wrap and place it in the fridge overnight.
15
In the morning, remove the saran wrap from the baking dish.
16
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
17
Throw it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes.
18
Remove the French toast bake from the oven.
19
Cut and serve a piece of the French toast bake, turning it upside down to show the caramelized brown sugar and butter coating the bottom.
