Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Directions
- 1Add butter to the baking dish and melt it in the oven.
- 2Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the melted butter in the bottom of the dish.
- 3Open two cans of pineapple slices and drain the juice into a measuring cup, reserving the juice for later.
- 4Arrange a single layer of pineapple slices over the brown sugar in the dish.
- 5Place one maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.
- 6In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, oil, 1 cup of pineapple juice, French vanilla pudding mix, and eggs. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- 7Add 1/3 cup of crushed pineapple to the cake batter and mix.
- 8Pour the cake batter over the fruit in the baking dish and spread it out completely and evenly.
- 9Bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes, or until the center is cooked through.
- 10Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the dish, upside down, for about 20 minutes.
- 11Flip the cake onto a flat pan or serving platter once completely cooled.
- 12Slice and serve the pineapple upside-down cake.

Tips
