Cream together softened butter and sugar in a red mixing bowl.

Add eggs one by one to the butter and sugar mixture.

Add vanilla to the mixture.

Beat the mixture with an electric hand mixer until well combined.

Add melted unsweetened baking chocolate to the mixture and mix until combined.

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Alternately stir in the flour mixture and milk into the chocolate mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 3 hours.

Roll the chilled dough into small balls.

Dredge each dough ball thoroughly in powdered sugar.

Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the cookies until they are set and cracked on top.

Remove baked cookies from the baking sheet and cool on a wire rack.
