Directions

  1. 1Whisk the eggs and sugar until light, fluffy, and pale in colour.
  2. 2Pour the hot melted butter and corn oil into the batter.
  3. 3Add the flour and cocoa powder and gently fold until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
  4. 4Bake at 180°C for approximately 30–35 minutes, avoiding overbaking.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole large egg
  • 400 g castor sugar
  • 140 g corn oil
  • 140 g butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 160 g chopped chocolate

Tips

  • You can heat the butter and corn oil in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • Do not overmix the batter once the dry ingredients are added.
