Cream together 1 stick of softened butter, 1/3 cup of white sugar, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.
Add in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and continue mixing.
Add in 1 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix until combined.
Roll the dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and flatten them to the size of a hockey puck.
Bake the cookies for 10-11 minutes at 350°F.
Make the butter sauce by melting 2 tablespoons of butter. Add in 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons of water, and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Stir until the powdered sugar is dissolved; do not boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
Once the cookies are slightly warm, brush them with the butter sauce.
Let them cool completely and then dust them with powdered sugar.
