Peel and slice 2 pounds of fresh peaches (about 6 peaches).
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla to the melted butter.
Add 1/4 cup of cornstarch to the skillet.
Whisk the mixture in the skillet.
Add 1/2 cup of light brown sugar to the skillet.
Add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar to the skillet.
Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the skillet.
Add 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the skillet.
Whisk all ingredients in the skillet.
Add the sliced peaches to the skillet and cook, stirring constantly, for 10 to 12 minutes until the peaches are soft and the mixture has thickened.
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of self-rising flour, 1/2 cup of whole milk, and half a stick of butter.
Mix all the ingredients in the bowl, chopping up the butter as you mix.
Add enough of the peach pie filling mixture from the skillet to the bowl with the other ingredients, starting with a quantity equivalent to about one can of pie filling and adding more if needed.
Mix thoroughly until combined.
Pour the mixture into a 9-inch pan.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until the crust is brown.
