No-Fail Baby Back Ribs

Directions

  1. 1Take the membrane off the ribs, starting in the middle of the slab and working your way to the other side.
  2. 2Cut off the last couple of bones from the slab.
  3. 3Apply your favorite barbecue rub, such as Deuces Wild Original rub, to the backside of the ribs first, then the top side.
  4. 4Place the ribs in a Southern Pride smoker at 250° for 2 hours.
  5. 5After 2 hours, once the ribs have a mahogany color, wrap them with brown sugar, butter, and apple juice, placing the face side down and adding a little more brown sugar.
  6. 6Close them up and put them back in the smoker for one more hour.
  7. 7Check the tenderness of the ribs with a thermometer; it should go in with basically no resistance.
  8. 8Pour all the juice and smoke flavor from the pork into a pot.
  9. 9Add the whole bottle of Deuces Wild competition barbecue sauce to the pot.
  10. 10Sauce both sides of the ribs.
  11. 11Return the sauced ribs to the smoker for about 10 minutes.
  12. 12Brush some sauce on your board to present the ribs.
  13. 13Flip the ribs over and cut through the bones where they line up.
