Directions

  1. 1Grease and line the bottom of 8-inch tins.
  2. 2Mix plain and self-raising flour together.
  3. 3Cream the butter and sugar together until super pale.
  4. 4Add the eggs, two at a time, mixing well between additions.
  5. 5Fold in the flour until just incorporated.
  6. 6Add milk and vanilla extract.
  7. 7Divide the batter evenly between the prepared tins.
  8. 8Level the batter with a palette knife.
  9. 9Bake at 170 degrees for 24-26 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
