Marry Me Pasta

Directions

  1. 1Slice chicken breasts in half lengthwise.
  2. 2Add salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and neutral oil to a bowl and mix.
  3. 3Add chicken breasts to the marinade and mix well with tongs.
  4. 4Slice the yellow onion.
  5. 5Mince the garlic cloves.
  6. 6Remove thyme leaves from the stem and chop them.
  7. 7Chop the fresh basil.
  8. 8Chop the sun-dried tomatoes.
  9. 9Cook the marinated chicken breasts in more neutral oil in a pan until browned on both sides and cooked through.
  10. 10Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and set aside on a wire rack.
  11. 11Add sliced onions and butter to the same pan and cook until they start to brown.
  12. 12Add minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
  13. 13Add tomato paste and cook for 3 minutes.
  14. 14Add AP flour and stir into the mixture.
  15. 15Add white wine and stir until the sauce thickens.
  16. 16Add chicken stock and whisk it into the sauce.
  17. 17Add thyme, dry oregano, smoked paprika, and dry basil to the sauce and whisk in.
  18. 18Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes.
  19. 19Add cream, sun-dried tomatoes, and whole grain mustard, then whisk until combined.
  20. 20Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes.
  21. 21Cut the cooked chicken breasts into desired size pieces.
  22. 22Cook the pasta in a pot.
  23. 23Season the sauce with salt.
  24. 24Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the sauce.
  25. 25Add the cut chicken pieces to the sauce with the pasta and stir.
  26. 26Add fresh basil and stir just before serving.
  27. 27Serve the pasta, garnish with Parmesan cheese and additional fresh basil.
