Directions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). The oven needs to be ready for this.
2
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
3
Take 24 graham cracker squares and break each rectangle into two squares.
4
Lay out the graham cracker squares on the lined baking sheet.
5
Chop 1 cup of pecans. You can also buy pre-chopped pecans or use a food processor.
6
In a pot, melt 1 stick (half a cup) of butter with half a cup of brown sugar.
7
Bring the butter and brown sugar mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
8
Once the mixture comes to a boil, turn off the stove.
9
Add about a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the caramel sauce off the stove and stir it in.
10
Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the graham crackers on the baking sheet and spread it out.
11
Sprinkle the chopped pecans all over the caramel-covered graham crackers. The recipe calls for half a cup, but you can add more if you like nuts.
12
Pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven until it starts to bubble up, which will take about 8 to 10 minutes.
13
Once it's bubbling, take it out of the oven. Sprinkle some thick salt on top (this is optional).
14
Let the graham cracker pralines cool completely.
15
Once completely cool, they will literally slide off the parchment paper. Break them into pieces and enjoy!
16
You can package them in a festive container with parchment paper to take to a potluck or as a gift.
