Directions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). The oven needs to be ready for this.
  2. 2Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. 3Take 24 graham cracker squares and break each rectangle into two squares.
  4. 4Lay out the graham cracker squares on the lined baking sheet.
  5. 5Chop 1 cup of pecans. You can also buy pre-chopped pecans or use a food processor.
  6. 6In a pot, melt 1 stick (half a cup) of butter with half a cup of brown sugar.
  7. 7Bring the butter and brown sugar mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  8. 8Once the mixture comes to a boil, turn off the stove.
  9. 9Add about a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the caramel sauce off the stove and stir it in.
  10. 10Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the graham crackers on the baking sheet and spread it out.
  11. 11Sprinkle the chopped pecans all over the caramel-covered graham crackers. The recipe calls for half a cup, but you can add more if you like nuts.
  12. 12Pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven until it starts to bubble up, which will take about 8 to 10 minutes.
  13. 13Once it's bubbling, take it out of the oven. Sprinkle some thick salt on top (this is optional).
  14. 14Let the graham cracker pralines cool completely.
  15. 15Once completely cool, they will literally slide off the parchment paper. Break them into pieces and enjoy!
  16. 16You can package them in a festive container with parchment paper to take to a potluck or as a gift.
