Healthier Chocolate Fudge Cake

  3. 3This cake is a giant version of the chocolate loaf cake from my cookbook, and I am so excited to try it.
  4. 4Peel and mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  5. 5Add grated courgette to the bowl.
  6. 6Pour in water and milk.
  7. 7Whisk the wet ingredients together.
  8. 8Sieve in flour and cocoa powder.
  9. 9Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
  10. 10Add chocolate chips to the batter.
  11. 11Fold in the chocolate chips.
  12. 12Pour the cake batter into two round cake pans.
  13. 13Spread the batter evenly in the pans.
  14. 14Bake the cakes until they are cooked through.
  15. 15Pipe a border of chocolate frosting around the edge of one cake layer.
  16. 16Spread the frosting evenly across the cake layer.
  17. 17Place the second cake layer on top.
  18. 18Pipe small dollops of chocolate frosting over the top surface of the cake.
  19. 19Add birthday candles to the cake.
