Wontons in a garlic-chili sauce

Directions

  1. 1Add flour and a pinch of salt to a bowl.
  2. 2Add water to the flour and salt mixture.
  3. 3Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4Rest the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. 5Roll out the dough thinly.
  6. 6Cut the rolled-out dough into approximately 20 dumpling wrappers.
  7. 7Peel and chop the vegetables for the filling, including carrots, cabbage, ginger, garlic, and spring onions.
  8. 8Add sesame oil to a pan.
  9. 9Add the chopped vegetables to the pan.
  10. 10Crumble in the tofu.
  11. 11Season the filling with soy sauce, vinegar, and agave.
  12. 12Cook the filling until it sizzles.
  13. 13Add the filling to the dumpling wrappers.
  14. 14Fold and shape the dumplings.
  15. 15Cook the dumplings in water for 2-3 minutes.
  16. 16Prepare the broth by combining noodle cooking water, crispy chili oil, sriracha, soy sauce, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl.
  17. 17Add the cooked dumplings to the broth.
  18. 18Stir to combine the dumplings with the broth.
  19. 19Garnish with spring onion.

  • 1 thumbsize piece ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 spring onion
  • 1 block tofu
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp agave
  • 0.5 cup noodle cooking water
  • 1 Tbsp crispy chili oil
  • 1 Tsp sriracha
  • 0.5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • pinch sugar
