Directions

  1. 1Pat the steak dry, drizzle with olive oil, and season generously.
  2. 2Sear both sides of the seasoned steak in a hot skillet until a nice golden crust forms.
  3. 3Add sliced onions to the pan with the seared steak.
  4. 4Add minced garlic to the pan.
  5. 5Pour a mixture of flour, your favorite seasonings, and water into the pan and stir it all together to start building the gravy.
  6. 6Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 1 hour at 350°F.
  7. 7After the first hour, remove the foil, flip the steaks, cover again with foil, and return to the oven for another 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  8. 8Once the full 2.5 hours are up, the steaks should be fall-apart tender and smothered in rich gravy.

  • Pat the steak dry before seasoning.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and season generously, going a little heavier than usual since the steak will be smothered.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F while searing the steak.
  • After the first hour of baking, flip the steaks over and return to the oven for another hour and 30 minutes.
  • The steaks should be fall-apart tender after 2.5 hours.
