Nawabi Shemai

Directions

  1. 1Boil 1 litre of cow's milk on the stove.
  2. 2Add 1/2 cup of condensed milk to it.
  3. 3In another bowl, take 1/4 cup of custard powder.
  4. 4Then add 1/4 cup of corn flour and 1/4 cup of powder milk to it.
  5. 5Add cold milk and mix all the ingredients well to make sure no lumps are left.
  6. 6Add this mix into the boiled milk.
  7. 7Add 1/3 cup of sugar.
  8. 8Stir well and cook until it becomes thick. Then take it off from the heat.
  9. 9Take another pan and add 1/3 cup of ghee.
  10. 10Add 1 packet of lacha shemai by crushing it well inside the packet.
  11. 11Stir it well with ghee. Then add 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of powder milk to it.
  12. 12Fry it until it becomes golden brown in colour and then take it off from the heat.
  13. 13Add a layer of fried shemai into a bowl. Then press it well.
  14. 14Then add the prepared malai mixture into it.
  15. 15Then again add another layer of fried shemai on the top.
  16. 16Refrigerate it well. Then cut and serve it.

  • 0.33 cup ghee

  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk

Tips

  • Use a good brand of custard powder.
  • Make sure no lumps or grainy parts are left.
