Directions

  1. 1Add maida, besan, salt, jeera, ajwain, and oil into a plate.
  2. 2Mix the ingredients well.
  3. 3Add water in batches and knead to a medium-soft dough.
  4. 4Cover the dough and let it rest for 1/2 hour.
  5. 5For the stuffing, dry roast saunf, sesame seeds, jeera, and desiccated coconut on a slow flame for 2 minutes.
  6. 6Add the dry roasted ingredients to a blender.
  7. 7Add coriander powder, dry ginger powder, a pinch of hing, red chilli powder, salt to taste, sugar, and haldi to the blender.
  8. 8Blend all the ingredients well to make the bhakarwadi masala.
  9. 9Roll out a thin and large roti from the dough.
  10. 10Apply meethi (sweet) chutney evenly over the roti.
  11. 11Spread the prepared bhakarwadi masala evenly over the chutney.
  12. 12Roll the masala lightly with a rolling pin to adhere it.
  13. 13Make another roti from the same dough and place it on top of the masala-covered roti.
  14. 14Cut the layered roti into square shapes.
  15. 15Fold each square piece to form a flower shape as shown in the video.
  16. 16Deep fry the floral bhakarwadis in medium hot oil until they are crispy.
  17. 17Remove the fried bhakarwadis from the oil.

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp jeera
  • 1 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • 0.75 tbsp coriander powder
  • 0.25 tbsp dry ginger powder
  • 1 pinch hing
  • 0.75 tbsp red chilli powder
  • to taste salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 0.25 tsp haldi
  • meethi (sweet) chutney
