Cajun Rice and Gravy

Directions

  1. 1Go to the store and get an onion, bell pepper, garlic, your favorite brand of smoked sausage, and your favorite cut of pork chops.
  2. 2Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  3. 3Add some oil to a magnus lite and drop the seasoned pork chops in.
  4. 4Sear the pork chops until they get a beautiful color, then remove and set aside.
  5. 5To the remaining flavor in the pot, add the smoked sausage, onion, and bell pepper.
  6. 6Sauté the sausage and vegetables down.
  7. 7Add in the garlic.
  8. 8Put the pork chops back into the pot along with all the drippings.
  9. 9Top it off with water.
  10. 10Toss in a couple of bay leaves.
  11. 11Add Southern Made Creole Seasoning.
  12. 12Bring it to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, cooking low and slow for about an hour and a half, adding water as needed.
  13. 13Remove the top and serve over rice with your favorite sides.

Tips

  • Season pork chops with only salt and pepper to develop a nice sear without burning spices.
  • Add water as needed during simmering.
  • If you ain't sneezing, it ain't seasoned.
