Chana Dal Paratha

Directions

  1. 1Take ½ cup Chana dal, wash and soak for 5-6 hours.
  2. 2Transfer Chana dal in a pressure cooker.
  3. 3Add ½ tsp Turmeric, ½ tsp Salt, and 1 Bay leaf.
  4. 4Pressure cook until 3 whistles.
  5. 5Strain Chana dal and keep aside.
  6. 6Meanwhile, take 2 cups Aashirvaad Aata, gradually add water (leftover water from Chana dal) and knead a soft dough.
  7. 7Cover the dough and let it rest.
  8. 8Heat mustard oil in a pan.
  9. 9Add coarsely grounded ½ tsp Coriander seeds, ½ tsp Cumin seeds, ¼ tsp Peppercorn, and a pinch of Heeng.
  10. 10Then add 1 large tbsp grated Ginger and 2 green Chillies.
  11. 11Fry for a while.
  12. 12Add boiled Chana dal and cook until the water dries up.
  13. 13Then add 1 small tsp Salt, Ajwain, Mangrela, and a handful of chopped coriander leaves.
  14. 14Mix well.
  15. 15Now take small portions of dough balls, give them a bowl-like shape.
  16. 16Place the dal stuffing in the center and seal the ends, making small balls.
  17. 17Roll into a flat paratha.
  18. 18Place the paratha on the tawa, apply oil, and cook on both sides.
  19. 19Serve with achaar and Curd. Enjoy!

  • 2 green Chilli
  • 1 small tsp Salt
  • Ajwain
  • Mangrela
  • 1 handful chopped coriander leaves
