Directions

  1. 1Thinly slice the chicken breast.
  2. 2Place the sliced chicken into a mixing bowl.
  3. 3Add garlic granules, MSG, cornflour, light soy sauce, and sesame oil to the chicken.
  4. 4Mix the chicken and marinade thoroughly until fully coated.
  5. 5Add the marinated chicken to a hot frying pan or wok.
  6. 6Spread the chicken out into an even layer to fry for a few minutes until it gets some color.
  7. 7While the chicken is cooking, put egg noodles into boiling water.
  8. 8Simmer the noodles for a few minutes before draining.
  9. 9Continue to stir and fry the chicken for a few more minutes until golden and cooked through.
  10. 10Set all the cooked chicken aside in a bowl for later.
  11. 11Place the pan back on the heat with a dash of oil.
  12. 12Add sliced brown onion and bell pepper to the pan.
  13. 13Stir and fry the vegetables for a few minutes to soften.
  14. 14Add the drained noodles to the pan with the vegetables.
  15. 15Spread the noodles out into a thin layer to char them in the pan.
  16. 16Add salt and MSG to the noodles.
  17. 17Add dark soy sauce to the noodles.
  18. 18Stir everything around in the pan and let it sit for 30 seconds.
  19. 19Add all of the cooked chicken back into the pan with the noodles and vegetables.
  20. 20Give everything a really good stir together.
  21. 21Serve the chow mein into four equal portions.
