Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2Melt butter and dark chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl (30-second increments, stirring after each). Let cool.
  3. 3In another bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. 4Stir in the melted chocolate mixture.
  5. 5Sift in flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  6. 6Fold in extra chocolate chunks (if using).
  7. 7Scoop dough onto the baking sheet (about 2 tbsp each).
  8. 8Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set and tops are cracked (centers should still be soft).
  9. 9Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
