1Boil salted water and cook protein pasta until al dente, then reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and set the pasta aside.
2Pat dry the shrimp. Season the large shrimp with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
3Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for around 2-3 minutes per side until opaque and a beautiful golden brown crust develops, then remove and set it aside.
4In the same pan, lower the heat to medium. Add butter, minced garlic and shallots. Cook for a few minutes (2-3 minutes) until soft and fragrant.
5Add back the pasta to the pan with the reserved pasta water, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Toss until creamy and well-coated.
6Top with fresh parsley and chili flakes.
7Serve the pasta with the seared shrimp, more Parmesan cheese and chili flakes.
