Directions
1
Start by pouring 1 cup of warm milk (110 degrees Fahrenheit) into a large mixing bowl.
2
Add 1 packet or 2.25 teaspoons of yeast to the warm milk.
3
Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until it looks nice and foamy.
4
Add 1/3 of a cup of melted and cooled salted butter into the mixture.
5
Add 1/2 cup of sugar to the bowl.
6
Crack and add 2 room temperature eggs to the mixture.
7
Break up the eggs in the bowl using a whisk.
8
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
9
Add 4 cups of bread flour, making sure to scoop it around and fluff it up before scooping to avoid packing.
10
Cover the bowl with a towel and let the mixture sit for another 5 minutes to soak up all the liquid.
11
Attach the dough hook to your mixer and knead the dough on low for about 5 minutes until it's really stretchy and soft.
12
Spray the bowl with some oil and toss your dough in.
13
Cover it with a towel and let it rise until it doubles in size.
14
While the dough rises, prepare the filling.
15
Take 1/2 cup of softened butter, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, and 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
16
Mix the filling ingredients until they are all combined and cohesive.
17
Once the dough has risen, lightly dust your surface with some flour.
18
Roll the dough out into a pretty large rectangle.
19
Take the filling and spread it evenly over the entire surface of the rolled-out dough.
20
Start rolling the dough up into a really tight log.
21
Take a sharp knife and cut the log into 12 rolls.
22
Take your softened butter wrapper from earlier and butter a 9x13 dish.
23
Set the rolls swirl side up into your prepared pan.
24
Cover the pan again with a paper towel and let it rise while the oven preheats to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
25
Once the oven is preheated, pour 1/2 cup of heavy cream over the rolls.
26
Bake the rolls in the oven for 25 minutes.
27
While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting.
28
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 stick of softened butter and 1 brick of softened cream cheese.
29
Beat the butter and cream cheese until they are combined.
30
Add 1/2 teaspoon of maple extract and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the frosting mixture.
31
Add about 2 cups of powdered sugar and mix it until it is combined.
32
Once the cinnamon rolls have cooled for a little bit, spread the frosting on top.
33
Enjoy your copycat Cinnabon cinnamon rolls.
