Hot Honey Garlic Chicken

Directions

  1. 1Cut the boneless chicken thighs into cubes.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine chicken with buttermilk, egg, chili powder, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and hot sauce.
  3. 3Mix well to ensure the chicken is fully coated.
  4. 4Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  5. 5In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  6. 6Take the marinated chicken pieces and coat them thoroughly in the dry flour mixture.
  7. 7Fry the chicken pieces in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. 8Remove the fried chicken from the oil using a slotted spoon.
  9. 9In a pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic.
  10. 10Add hot sauce, honey, and optional cayenne pepper to the pan and mix to create the hot honey garlic sauce.
  11. 11Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan with the sauce.
  12. 12Toss the chicken to ensure it's evenly coated with the sauce.
  13. 13Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 120 ml hot sauce
  • 120 ml honey
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder (optional, for extra spice)
  • sesame seeds
  • thinly sliced green onions (optional)
