Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani

Directions

  1. 1Place the chicken in a large pot.
  2. 2Add fried onions, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chicken masala powder, and coconut powder to the chicken.
  3. 3Add ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, coriander leaves, and mint leaves to the chicken mixture.
  4. 4Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
  5. 5Add oil to the chicken mixture.
  6. 6Mix well.
  7. 7Add curd and mix well.
  8. 8Boil water in a separate pot and add oil, whole garam masala, ginger garlic paste, and salt.
  9. 9Add soaked basmati rice to the boiling water.
  10. 10Cook rice until 80% cooked, then drain.
  11. 11Add the cooked rice to the chicken mixture.
  12. 12Add food colour and rose water.
  13. 13Add ghee and fried onions on top.
  14. 14Cover the pot and cook on low flame for 30 minutes.
  15. 15Gently mix the biryani once it's cooked.

  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp chicken masala powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut powder
  • 4 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp whole garam masala
  • 1 tbsp food colour
  • 2 tbsp rose water
  • 2 tbsp ghee
