Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it bloom for about 5 minutes.

Add self-raising flour to a bowl.

Add melted butter, and the milk and yeast mixture to the bowl.

Stir until just combined.

Knead for 3 to 5 minutes.

Shape the dough into a ball and proof it for about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Punch the air out.

Portion the dough out to about 32 balls.

Fold it back in on itself.

Cup your hand and roll the balls.

Evenly space them out in the tray.

Cover with a tea towel and proof for at least 30 minutes.

Combine coconut milk, coconut cream, and condensed milk.

Pour about half of the mixture over the buns.

Depending on your oven, bake at 170 to 180 degrees Celsius.

Bake for 30 minutes.

At the 20-minute mark, pour another quarter of the sauce over the buns.

Bake for another 10 minutes.

Sprinkle some desiccated coconut.

400 mls condensed milk
